Many Glacier Hotel
I worked at the front desk at Many Glacier Hotel the summer before business school, and just after I met Victoria. It's the perfect spot from which to go hiking, being at the nexus of trails that run through the park, and the starting point for some great out-and-back day hikes. When we'd get complaints at the front desk, we'd tell guests that they were paying for the location and views, and not so much for the room itself. Having now slept in the hotel myself, I fully understand why we had to use that line so frequently. But the remote setting brings people together for shared amazement, local brews, and evening music and sing-alongs in the lobby...not too bad for a hotel opened nearly 100 years ago.
