Home Again

Are you wondering what happened to us over the last week?? Well, happy to say that we arrived home last Friday night after a whirlwind tour through New Mexico and Arizona and just couldn't keep up with the blogging in that time (or couldn't bring ourselves to write one more of the things;)

It's been a great trip but we have to admit it's fantastic to be home again and back to a bit of reality.

Here are a few photo's just to wrap up the last leg of the grand tour:-

At Taos Pueblo in Taos, New Mexico a group of American Indians has been living for several hundred years. They not only own the land around the Pueblo, but the entire mountain behind the Pueblo. As a result, they have controlled access to the mountain to the point that the river coming from it is still clean and you can have a drink right from the river without worrying about giardia. I don't know of any rivers even in National Parks that are that clean...

Sometime around 1100 or 1200 AD a volcano erupted in Arizona, forcing the American Indians in the area to move. The Sinagua Indians built cliff-side homes of rock and clay into the hillside outcroppings in an area now called Walnut Canyon. I wouldn't mind living here for a while.

Petrified National Forest:
Whole forests of fossilized trees. Amazing

Back into L.A traffic. Ahhhhh home sweet home ;)

Well done you two. And thanks for the 'ride'. I'll email in a day or two with the latest.
