Ford Rouge (text)

Thursday we toured the Ford Rouge factory and visited the Ford Museum. The Rouge plant has been in operation for nearly 100 years, taking in iron ore and other basic inputs on its docks and shipping out finished vehicles on the other side. An impressive operation, and very interesting to consider the use of union labor at $26 or so per hour in a low cost area like Dearborn relative to the $7 or so minimum wage for retail employees in Los Angeles.
