Not that we're fixating on food or anything but came across another "must try" spot from the Road Food book while taking a drive thru a rather seedy & rundown part of downtown Detroit MI (think whole blocks of vacant buildings). The Lafayette Cony Island is apparently a Detroit icon, if you like hotdogs and chili and all the various combinations of these 2 that is. We got ourselves a couple of dogs smothered in chili & washed it down with the recommended local ginger beer called Vernors. I think Raymond liked it. I was just happy to find the Jeep still there when we walked outside.
