This shot of Manhattan was taken from the ferry on our way to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Got a really fascinating insight into the history of immigration in the US especially the great influx of Europeans between the late 1800's and the 1920's. Also found out that The Statue of Liberty was a gift from the French (made in and shipped in pieces from France) to the people of the US, and was designed by the same guy who designed the Eiffel Tower. Rivetting bit of trivia don't you think? ;)
