We've camped at a handfull of state parks on the Great Lakes over the last several days. First just outside Detroit next to a huge powerplant (they seem to have a lot more powerplants in these parts than we have in LA), then in Ohio where the mosquitos were so thick that we just ate dinner right out of the pot inside our tent. Later that night Victoria felt something trying to get under our tent, so she smacked it...and out ran a skunk!
Last night we camped right on Lake Ontario next to a lighthouse, watched the sun set over the lake, and fell asleep with the stars and lapping of the lake. Then we woke up in the middle of the night to 40 mph winds and driving rain (we found out the hard way that our tent is NOT waterproof when there is rain AND gale force winds). So we plan to spend tonight at a motel where we can dry out a bit.
